Kalogria Beach

It’s a long sandy beach with clear turquoise waters, also known as Zorba’s beach, as Nikos Kazantzakis and Alexis Zorbas lived there. It is one of the most famous and beautiful beaches of Messinia. Stoupa Beach

It is located right in front of the main road of the village. It is a stunning beach with fine golden sand and turquoise waters. On the busy street just above, you will find dozens of cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops.

Chalikoura Beach

Agios Dimitrios Beach

Just 5 km from Stoupa is the beautiful sandy beach of Agios Dimitrios. On the beach, there are many trees that provide shade.

The Castle of Lefktro

Visit the village of Lefktro, east of Stoupa, where the imposing castle dominates. The traveller Pausanias mentions that there was the temple of Athena, with her statue. During the Frankish occupation the castle was rebuilt and given the name Bofor, which means ‘beautiful castle’.

The Prastovas Mine

It is worth visiting the now abandoned coal mine of Prastovas in Neo Proastio, where Nikos Kazantzakis and Alexis Zorbas worked.

A beautiful seaside village of Messinian Mani, located 7.5 km north of Stoupa. Kardamyli is one of the best preserved traditional settlements of Messinian Mani and at the same time an important tourist resort.

The Tower of Troupakis Mourtzinos

It is located in the Old Kardamyli. Built in 1807, it is a fortified complex consisting of various buildings. At the entrance of the castle dominates the Church of Agios Spyridon, a family church of the Mourtzinos, a work that reveals the economic power and robustness of the family. The three-storey house inside the Mourtzini Tower houses the museum, which presents through models and photographs the life in the Mani region.

Agios Nikolaos

A picturesque fishing village of the Messinian Mani. It is located 4 km south of Stoupa. The picturesque landscape has made Agios Nikolaos a popular holiday destination in recent years.

Caves of Diros

The Caves of Diros is one of the most beautiful caves and is located on the western coast of the Laconian Peninsula, in the Bay of Diros, 49 km from Stoupa
